MS Roundup Ride 2010
Join us and our partner, the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Arizona, for the Roundup Ride 2010 on March 27-28 in Florence, Arizona. GSA USA is working with MS Arizona Chapter towards a more sustainable event by replacing 100s of cases of plastic water bottles with dispensers of freshwater provided by locally-based Park Water Company. Participants will now fill up their reusable sports bottles, which reduces the amount of waste the event organizers have to handle, and prevents thousands of plastic bottles from going to the landfill (or, recycling plant of course).
Come by our booth at Walk MS on Saturday, March 6th, 2010 in Tucson!

Powering Down in Rochester
Rochester Team Captain Dan Schied blogs about his abundant efforts to save energy at the University of Rochester. In just 4 months he and his colleagues saved thousands of pounds of CO2 emissions simply by installing inexpensive programmable thermostats and time-controlled exhaust fans in equipment storage rooms. Automatically dropping the temperature at night, and having the fan turn off after 15 minutes (instead of being left on for days) saves over 30,000 lbs of CO2 in a year. Next, they’re going to work with the school of engineering to set up solar or wind energy on campus to power their electric grounds vehicles.

Epic practices sustainability through their interactive recycling efforts, collection of cycling gear to be repurposed for used bikes or art, and environmental action to protect the trails.

A Fab Font saves Ink
Ecofont uses 20% less ink than other fonts. Why? Because it’s shot full of holes. Here it is: It reads just fine for internal documents, albeit a little funky for that special letter. Download it here (www.macworld/5551), stick it in your fonts folder and voila! Your office is already doing good while saving money.
